I am bored by Jews and Israel
Jews make up .23% of the world's population.
That's POINT twenty-three per cent!
.23% makes them fairly irrelevant.
There are ten times as many atheists!
I'm tired of all the news reports about what's going on in Israel.
In what way is this relevant to the interests of Americans?
I realize that terrorism is a hot topic nowadays,
but if they still can't get it together over there... well...
that's not really NEWS is it?

It does seem strange doesn't it? No one thinks much about the Aborigines, American Indians, etc'., and yet Jews being such a small percentage of the total population have captured the news for a long time. Makes me wonder if they really are the chosen people of God, and therefore can never be buried and forgotten.
ReplyDelete@ anonymous: interesting. however i was raised Protestant, and I never really subscribed to that "chosen people" idea. I understand that Jesus was said to be Jewish, however I don't really think that automatically makes all Jews more important to God than say Hindus. It just wouldn't be fair, at all. I know, I know "LIFE isn't fair" as they say, but if God is anything, god should be FAIR.
ReplyDeleteI think it may have a lot more to do with the Euro-guilt that has been pushed onto everyone in the wake of WW2.
In any event I have grown really tired of opening NEWSWEEK and seeing that half of the articles are about Israel and the middle-East. Those topics are irrelevant to my life. All of that space could be substituted with articles about the economy in the U.S., or articles about ANYTHING else.
